Week I Blog 2

The past couple of days have been thrilling! I visited a few hardware stores to look at different paint samples. There are so many shades of the same color to choose from! I had to pick a color for the walls and the cabinets. For right now, I picked a light grey for the walls, and a deep purpley navy for the cabinets. I was in the paint store looking at samples for hours... I never realized how much time it takes to pick the perfect color. I also visited a floor shop to see if any flooring caught my attention. Once again there are so many options. I love the way wood floors look in almost every room, so I was naturally drawn to that. I looked at some vinyl wood floors because it is cheaper, low-maintenance, long-lasting, and waterproof! It seems like the best option for a college dorm, and it will still look nice. I then looked for countertop options and I did not find anything that caught my eye. I am visiting a tile shop next week, so I will probably find something I like there. I caught up with my mentor via Zoom for a check-in. She wanted to make sure I was on the right track with everything. I got the thumbs up from her, so I started looking at furniture too! As of right now, I have only shopped at Target for dorm furniture. It was the first store my mentor recommended because they have nice furniture for a cheap price. I have found so many great options! I found this super sleek storage bed, which I think, would be perfect for a dorm room. I get to sit in on some client visits next week, as well as some tile/furniture store visits! Looking forward to learning even more next week.
